Melissa Ringstaff and her family spotted a Great Pyrenees lying on the side of a road while they were on a long drive in Kentucky.
First they thought the poor animal was hit by a car but when the animal got up and walked towards them they realized he wasn’t hurt.
But his companion had not been so lucky.
The family were heartbroken for the other dog but then decided to help the large one.
“We loaded him up as vehicles passed with more than a few people telling us they were so glad to see someone helping him and a local person explained that his owners had moved away and left the two dogs behind — abandoned them,” Ringstaff wrote on her blog.” And that he’d been sitting there for a few days.”
They bonded with the dog immediately, they adopted him and named him Tucker.
After feeding and bathing the dog it seemed that he was getting along great with the 5 kids of Ringstaffs family and their other dogs.
Shortly after they rescued Tucker he ran away again, the family went out to search for him and were determined to bring him home again.
Fortunately they found Tucker and on a recently shared video he is so happy in his new home.
We’re happy for him too!
